app was built by observing the probe’s own Bluetooth broadcasts.
Provided as is, with no warranty
The protocol was reverse-engineered and may be incomplete or simply
wrong. It can break without notice, including after a firmware update
to your probe. You use this at your own risk and take full
responsibility for any decision you make with it, including
decisions about whether food is safe to eat.
Safety features may be missing
This does not reproduce everything the official app does.
There is no over-temperature warning. The real product
may have other alarms, limits, calibration steps or undocumented
behaviours that this app knows nothing about, because they were never
observed on the air and so could not be implemented.
Known limitations
- How often a reading arrives depends on your phone’s
Bluetooth stack, not on the probe. A number on screen
can be many seconds out of date, so the age of the
last reading is always shown next to it — trust that, not the
number alone.
- The target alarm only sounds while this page is open.
Close it, or let the phone sleep without the wake lock, and nothing
will warn you.
- The temperature scale was checked against a
single reference point near room temperature.
- Which sensor is “food” and which is
“ambient” was worked out by observation, not from any
documentation.
- Nothing here has been validated for food safety by anyone.
Do not rely on this alone
Where undercooking actually matters — poultry, pork, minced
meat, reheating, preserving — confirm the temperature with an
independent thermometer you trust.
